Fashion Friday- Thanksgiving Casual

It’s almost turkey time!! Yes, that’s right. Time for good food, family, friends and football (for some of you lol).

Personally, it’s all about the food for me.  Give me some turkey, stuffing, potatoes and gravy, mac and cheese and sit me at a table because I am set. Can you tell where my minds at?? It’s drifting off now as I type just thinking about all the deliciousness to come in a couple weeks. Not to mention, it’s my birthday!

So I don’t know about you guys, but for me, I need something comfortable yet cute for this day. I want to look put together with a bit of a baggier and slouchy look. I’ve put together a go to look to help accomplish just that!

Fashion Trend Spring 2013

As a stay at home mom, I spend most days in jeans and a t-shirt. Not very chic. That has a lot to do with why I follow so many fashion blogs. I aspire to be this very fashion forward mom strolling around the grocery store with my well behaved children. But if you ever see me there just ignore the yoga pants, t- shirt and me chasing my 3 year old as she takes off toward the balloons and free cookies. Because I live most days this way my husband and I find it very important to have date nights at least once or twice a month. Probably so he remembers I can actually look decent. A few weeks ago we went shoe shopping. I bought blue fin flip flops (of course I am a flip flop/sandal freak) some limelight ankle booties and limelight ankle strap heels. So yesterday I am reading through a fashion blog I love and it is about spring trends. Number 1 spring trend listed, ankle strap heels. If you buy no other shoe this season, just buy those. Wow! I was finally on top of a trend for the first time in years. By the way check out these heels, I love them. Rack Room Shoes!

Fashion Trends for the Summer of 2011

Fashion trends can be in and then out just as quickly as they came. To stay on trend you have to keep up with fashions for every season.
This summer is filled with hot and fun looks. All can be extremely versatile and revamped for a day or night look.
A hot pick for this summer is the reinvented 70’s glam. Key pieces for your wardrobe should be maxi dresses and high waisted pants. Maxi dresses have shown up in all stores recently and can be found in solid colors or prints. If by some misfortune a maxi dress cannot be found then any long variety dress will do. The key is in the flowing fabric and length. High waisted, wide leg pants should be wisely bleted for a great summer time look.
Nautical theme clothing is a take on the sailor look with bell bottom pants and white and navy stripes. Red accents or jewelry with anchors adds an extra touch of flare. Strips can be incorporated into an outfit by something as small as a hat or extreme like a dress. To create a nautical outfit without the stripes is easy, throw on khakis with breezy linens and you have got a simple yet sophisticated look.
The military look is out and the biker trend is in. Look for leather jackets. This will be the key statement piece for this trend. Jackets can be found in a variety of colors and accents such as zipper sleeves. Add leather pants and you have the look. You may also use any other skin hugging material such as neoprene as an alternative.
Swimwear is going in a new direction this year. Following the 70’s trend , look for one piece suits cinched at the waist, high waist bottoms, fuller cup tops, and playful prints like hawaiian and nautical. Another trend will be ruffles either as a dominant feature or subtle accent. Crochet bathing suits are influenced by 70’s fashion as well. Women will love these suits because the wide stitching catches the eye and draws attention away from flaws.
Having one or all of these items in your closet will have you on style this summer.
