Yes it has happened. My son is a very cautious kid, but when it comes to driving ANYTHING he wants it. He got a 4 wheeler a few Christmases ago and he loved it. Rode it every day and even laughed when he wrecked. Over the weekend his grandmother got him a surprise. At first the caution kicked in and he got a nervous stomach and scared and refused to get on. I think it was just all of the people gathered around to watch. He is very self conscious and probably didn’t want to embarrass himself in front of everyone.
Once we got the motorcycle home though it was a different story. He hopped right on and took off. No trouble at all and was immediately in love with this thing.
Of course as a mother it makes me nervous that he will get hurt but I know that is just part of childhood. You have to give them the freedom to do what they like in order for them to find what they love.
He did wreck yesterday, but got right back up and on it. When he pulled up to me I asked him if he was OK and his response. “Did you see how awesome I did? I held it up good for my first wipe out, don’t you think?”
Yes, yes son, you did.
This is a great quote i found by Robin Sharma-
We are all here for some special reason. Stop being a PRISONER of your past and become the architect of your FUTURE.
