Fashion Trends for the Summer of 2011

Fashion trends can be in and then out just as quickly as they came. To stay on trend you have to keep up with fashions for every season.
This summer is filled with hot and fun looks. All can be extremely versatile and revamped for a day or night look.
A hot pick for this summer is the reinvented 70’s glam. Key pieces for your wardrobe should be maxi dresses and high waisted pants. Maxi dresses have shown up in all stores recently and can be found in solid colors or prints. If by some misfortune a maxi dress cannot be found then any long variety dress will do. The key is in the flowing fabric and length. High waisted, wide leg pants should be wisely bleted for a great summer time look.
Nautical theme clothing is a take on the sailor look with bell bottom pants and white and navy stripes. Red accents or jewelry with anchors adds an extra touch of flare. Strips can be incorporated into an outfit by something as small as a hat or extreme like a dress. To create a nautical outfit without the stripes is easy, throw on khakis with breezy linens and you have got a simple yet sophisticated look.
The military look is out and the biker trend is in. Look for leather jackets. This will be the key statement piece for this trend. Jackets can be found in a variety of colors and accents such as zipper sleeves. Add leather pants and you have the look. You may also use any other skin hugging material such as neoprene as an alternative.
Swimwear is going in a new direction this year. Following the 70’s trend , look for one piece suits cinched at the waist, high waist bottoms, fuller cup tops, and playful prints like hawaiian and nautical. Another trend will be ruffles either as a dominant feature or subtle accent. Crochet bathing suits are influenced by 70’s fashion as well. Women will love these suits because the wide stitching catches the eye and draws attention away from flaws.
Having one or all of these items in your closet will have you on style this summer.
